Stinger 20cc RE Rear Exhaust Gas Engine
The Stinger 20cc RE is a two-stroke gasoline engine designed for RC airplanes. Its rear exhaust layout helps accommodate narrower cowls, including those found on many warbirds. A beam mount makes it a practical choice for compatible aircraft being converted from glow power to gasoline.
This engine features a rear-mounted Walbro pumper carburetor and electronic CDI ignition with automatic timing advance. Stinger rates the 20cc RE at up to 2.8 hp (2.1 kW) and recommends a range of two-blade propellers from 14 × 10 through 17 × 6. Fuel and Ignition
The manufacturer specifies premixed gasoline and two-stroke oil. Its current listing recommends a 32:1 gasoline-to-oil ratio for conventional oil or 40:1 for synthetic oil. Follow the manual included with your engine for fuel, break-in, and operating instructions.
The manufacturer lists a 7.4–14V ignition power supply and specifically advises not powering the ignition through a BEC, iBEC, or uBEC. Verify your ignition module and battery compatibility before connecting power.
