The Secraft M5 Smoke Nipple Adapter Nut provides a clean and secure way to install an M5 smoke nipple into your RC airplane muffler. The lightweight aluminum adapter is designed to be welded or brazed into an aluminum exhaust header, creating durable M5 threads for your smoke injection fitting.

Ideal for custom smoke system installations on giant scale gas airplanes, these adapters make servicing or replacing smoke nipples simple while providing a professional installation.

⚠ Important Installation Metallurgy Note: These adapters are machined from raw aluminum. They must be welded or brazed exclusively into aluminum exhaust components using appropriate aluminum filler rods or specialized low-temperature aluminum welding rods. They cannot be welded to stainless steel or steel mufflers. Always remove all internal electronics from the fuselage before welding anywhere near the airframe.

🔧 Installation Guide

  1. Select the desired injection location on your aluminum muffler or exhaust header pipe.
  2. Drill the appropriate opening sizing to cleanly drop the 10mm OD adapter bung into place.
  3. Weld or braze the aluminum adapter nut securely into the exhaust metal using aluminum filler.
  4. Allow the hot metal assembly to air-cool completely on your workbench (do not quench in water).
  5. Chase the internal threads if necessary, then install your M5 smoke nipple using high-temp thread sealant.
  6. Connect your silicone or neoprene smoke oil tubing and verify there are zero fluid leaks before initial engine operation.
