Historical Context
Champion Aircraft Corporation introduced the Citabria in 1964, bringing accessible aerobatic capability to a familiar high-wing aircraft layout. Pilots soon wanted a wider aerobatic envelope, leading to the 8KCAB Decathlon in 1970.
