Gator RC 15mm Aluminum Control Horn w/ Ball Bearing Clevis

This Gator RC 15mm aluminum control horn with ball bearing clevis is a compact, low-friction linkage upgrade for RC airplanes. The bearing clevis design helps reduce binding, keeps the linkage moving smoothly, and is well suited for elevator, rudder, and aileron control surface installations where clean geometry matters.

Key Features

  • 15mm Aluminum Control Horn: Compact horn length for smaller RC aircraft and tighter control surface installations
  • Ball Bearing Clevis: Helps reduce friction and prevents the clevis from rubbing against the inside of the control horn
  • 2mm Hardware System: Hardware that passes through the bearing is 2mm
  • Drillable Clevis Fitment: Fits 2mm thread and has enough material to be drilled up to 3mm
  • Complete Hardware Set: Includes horn, clevis, bearing hardware, mounting screw, washer, and lock nut

Specifications

  • Horn Length: 15mm
  • Control Rod / Clevis Fitment: 1.75mm opening; suitable for 2mm thread and drillable up to 3mm
  • Clevis Hole Size: 2.05mm
  • Bearing Hardware Size: 2mm
  • Main Bearing Screw: 2mm × 12mm screw with lock nut
  • Mounting Screw: 3mm × 20mm flat head screw
  • Countersunk Washer: 3mm × 12mm
  • Total Weight: 3.6g for all 8 pieces
  • Material: Aluminum control horn with plastic bearing spacer and clevis hardware

What’s Included

  • 1 × 15mm Aluminum Control Horn
  • 1 × Bearing Clevis
  • 1 × 2mm × 12mm Screw
  • 1 × Lock Nut
  • 1 × 2mm Plastic Bearing / Spacer
  • 1 × 3mm × 20mm Flat Head Mounting Screw
  • 1 × 3mm × 12mm Countersunk Washer
  • 8 total pieces included

Required to Complete

  • Compatible control rod / pushrod
  • Control surface hard point suitable for the 3mm × 20mm mounting screw
  • Drill or reamer if enlarging the clevis fitment up to 3mm

Best For

  • Small to mid-size RC airplanes
  • Elevator, rudder, and aileron linkage setups
  • Installations where smooth, low-friction control movement is important
  • Builders upgrading from basic nylon control horns or standard clevis setups

Fitment & Installation Notes

  • The 3mm × 20mm flat head screw secures the horn and passes through the hard point on the control surface
  • The 2mm × 12mm screw passes through the bearing and clevis and is secured with the included lock nut
  • The 2mm plastic bearing/spacer helps prevent the side of the clevis from rubbing against the inside of the control horn
  • Align the horn with the hinge line to maintain proper linkage geometry and reduce binding

Why Use a Ball Bearing Clevis Control Horn?

A ball bearing clevis setup allows the linkage to articulate more smoothly than a basic fixed clevis connection. This helps reduce friction, minimizes binding, and can reduce unnecessary servo load in control surface applications.

Modeler’s Tip: For best control response, mount the horn so the linkage pivot point lines up closely with the hinge line. If you need to enlarge the clevis fitment, drill carefully and keep the hole centered.
