The T-Can (Cantilizer) is the small top wing seen on the majority of modern F3A/Pattern planes. It adds lift area (incident matched to the main wing at ~0.8°), directs airflow onto the tail fin for better yaw stability, and increases rudder effectiveness at speed for cleaner rolling maneuvers and less knife-edge pitch. It's there for very sound aerodynamic reasons.
