Futaba R9001SB AdRCSS 900MHz S.BUS Receiver for TM-18

The Futaba R9001SB is a compact AdRCSS 900MHz aircraft receiver designed exclusively for use with the Futaba TM-18 RF module. It can be used as a 900MHz receiver or, as Futaba recommends, as a backup receiver alongside a compatible 2.4GHz Futaba receiver equipped with Dual Rx Link.

When connected through S.BUS or S.BUS2, the R9001SB can carry multiple control channels from a compatible transmitter. The maximum available channel count depends on the transmitter and system configuration, with support for up to 16 channels through the TM-18 system.

Recommended Backup Application: Futaba recommends using the R9001SB and TM-18 as a 900MHz backup alongside a compatible 2.4GHz main receiver equipped with Dual Rx Link. This provides communication through two separate frequency bands.
TM-18 Required: The R9001SB cannot communicate directly with a standard Futaba transmitter. A Futaba TM-18 900MHz RF module and a compatible transmitter are required.

Key Features

  • AdRCSS 900MHz Operation: Uses Futaba's Advanced Radio Control System for the sub-GHz band.
  • TM-18 Compatibility: Designed exclusively for operation with the Futaba TM-18 RF module.
  • Dual-Frequency Backup: Can supplement a compatible Futaba 2.4GHz system when connected through Dual Rx Link.
  • Up to 16 Channels: Supports multi-channel control through S.BUS or S.BUS2, with the maximum channel count determined by the transmitter.
  • Dual-Antenna Diversity: Uses two antennas and automatically selects the antenna receiving the better signal.
  • Throttle Fail-Safe: Channel 3 can be configured to move to a predetermined throttle position following signal loss.
  • Compact and Lightweight: The slim receiver weighs only 0.16 oz. (4.6 g).
  • Firmware Update Support: Receiver firmware can be updated using a Futaba CIU-2 or CIU-3 interface.

Compatible Futaba Transmitters

  • Futaba T12K
  • Futaba T16IZ and T16IZS
  • Futaba T16SZ
  • Futaba T18SZ
  • Futaba T26SZ and T26SZ Pro
  • Futaba T32MZ and T32MZ WC

Compatibility requires the Futaba TM-18 RF module. The T12K and T16SZ require a separate power supply for the module.

Technical Specifications

Telemetry: Not supported through the 900MHz AdRCSS system
Fail-Safe: Channel 3 throttle fail-safe
Antenna System: Dual-antenna diversity
Power Requirement: 4.8–7.4V DC
Dimensions: 1.48 × 0.83 × 0.21 in. (37.5 × 21.1 × 5.3 mm)
Weight: 0.16 oz. (4.6 g)
Not a 2.4GHz Receiver: The R9001SB does not link directly to Futaba FASSTest, FASST, T-FHSS, or S-FHSS transmitter signals. All control data must be transmitted through the optional TM-18 900MHz RF module.
No 900MHz Telemetry: The AdRCSS system provides one-way communication and does not return telemetry through the R9001SB. When it is used as a backup receiver, available telemetry comes from the compatible 2.4GHz main receiver.
Power-System Notice: Do not use dry-cell batteries. If the receiver is powered through an ESC's regulated output, confirm that the BEC has sufficient capacity for all connected equipment.
Regional Frequency Notice: This listing is for the U.S. 900MHz version. Futaba's Japanese-market version operates in the 920MHz band. Radio-frequency products must comply with the regulations of the country where they are operated.
