Two Installation Methods

The Secraft M6 V2 Wing Bolt Lock System offers two installation methods, allowing you to choose the approach that best suits your aircraft and building preferences.

Method 1 – Standard Assembly (Recommended)

  1. Apply the supplied threadlocker to the threaded stud.
  2. Thread the stud into the aluminum wing bolt.
  3. Allow the threadlocker to cure completely (approximately 5 hours).
  4. Install the completed wing bolt assembly into your aircraft.
  5. Secure the wing bolt using the supplied locking pin and O-ring.

This is the recommended installation method for most aircraft and creates a permanent wing bolt assembly that is ready for repeated installation and removal.

Method 2 – Custom Fit Assembly

  1. Apply the supplied threadlocker to the threaded stud.
  2. Install the wing onto the aircraft.
  3. Adjust the threaded stud until the correct amount of thread extends through the wing.
  4. Thread the aluminum wing bolt onto the stud and tighten to the desired position.
  5. Allow the threadlocker to cure for approximately 5 hours before flying.
  6. Install the supplied locking pin and O-ring to complete the positive locking system.

This method allows you to customize the thread engagement for your specific aircraft, ensuring the best possible fit before permanently securing the wing bolt.

Lock Pin Installation

After tightening the wing bolt, insert the supplied locking pin into the wing bolt and stretch the O-ring around the wing bolt to retain the pin. This positive locking system helps prevent the wing bolt from loosening due to vibration while still allowing quick wing removal when needed.

When installing the locking pin, position the lock pin hole approximately 17.5–18.0mm (0.69–0.71") from the center of the wing bolt hole as shown in the installation guide.

Installation Tips

  • Use only medium-strength threadlocker on metal-to-metal threads.
  • Allow approximately 5 hours for the threadlocker to fully cure before flying.
  • Inspect the locking pins and O-rings before every flight.
  • Replace worn O-rings as part of normal maintenance.
  • Verify the locking pin is fully secured by the O-ring before each flight.
  • Inspect all wing mounting hardware regularly and replace damaged components immediately.
