"Double Trouble Two" was the personal P-51D of Lieutenant Colonel Wallace "Wally" Hopkins of the 361st Fighter Group, 8th Air Force. The name carried a double meaning — Hopkins flew two combat tours, and the aircraft's twin .50-cal banks made it doubly dangerous to any enemy in the sky. The 361st FG, known as the "Yellow Jackets" for their distinctive yellow-nosed Mustangs, flew escort missions deep into Germany and racked up an impressive kill record.
